Huelings is made by ClacketyRock ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the Huelings app handles and how. The short version: your world lives on your device unless you choose to back it up, we don't sell your information, and the only personal data we ever hold is what's needed to run your optional account.
If you play as a guest, your game save (your pets, terrariums, and progress) is stored only on your device. We don't receive it and can't recover it if the app is uninstalled. (The app still sends anonymous crash reports and shows ads — see those sections below.)
You can optionally save your progress across devices with an email address, a Google account, or Sign in with Apple. We use Google Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in and Cloud Firestore to store a backup of your game save. In that case we hold:
We use this information only to operate the backup and sign-in features. We do not sell it or share it with anyone beyond the service providers named here.
Optional in-app purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat to verify purchases and keep track of what you own so it can be restored on a new device. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier (your account identifier if you are signed in), your purchase history, and basic device information. Nothing else about your game is shared with it.
If you choose to set up the streamer overlay and connect a Twitch channel, we store the link between your Huelings account and your Twitch channel ID, and Twitch sends us counts of new follows and subscriptions so community goals can be tracked. We do not receive the names of your followers or subscribers. Disconnecting the channel or deleting your account removes this link.
Huelings shows optional rewarded ads (for example, to fast-forward a nap) served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google and its partners may collect device information such as your device's advertising ID. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where required by law (for example in the EEA and UK), a consent form is shown before ads are personalized, and you can revisit your choices at any time via Settings → Manage ad preferences in the app. You can also reset or delete your device's advertising ID in your device settings.
When the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, it sends a diagnostic report to Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains the technical details of the failure — the error and where in the code it happened, your device model, operating system version, and app version — plus an anonymous identifier for the installation.
Crash reports never contain your game save, your pets' names, or your email address. If you are signed in, we attach your account identifier so we can help if you write to us about a specific problem; if you play as a guest, no account identifier is attached.
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics — things like how many people play each day, how long sessions last, device model, operating system version, app version, and country. This helps us understand how the game is used and keep it running well.
These statistics are aggregated, are not linked to your name or email address, and never contain your game save or your pets' names.
Huelings does not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera. Beyond the services named above, no other third parties receive data about you.
Account data is kept while your account exists. You can permanently delete your account and everything saved to it at any time via Settings → Delete account in the app, or by emailing us at hello@clacketyrock.com. Deleting the app removes any local guest save.
Huelings is made for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
